(Back to EL Visitors Cars.)
We don't usually run near-stock GLi wagons on our Visitors Cars pages, but when the pictures come back as good as this who are we to argue? All the way from sunny Bullsbrook (just north of Perth) WA, this wagon spent most of it's time trooping around the country back roads and high ways before Wayne bought it - helping explain the inclusion of 'country pack' suspension. Even getting the photos for this page was a challenge in itself complained Wayne early in the piece - "It seems that every time I wash the beast - we get a dust storm!"

Manufactured in the 12th month '97, Wayne's Regency Red beauty already has "148000ks and still pulling strong" with an extra boost given courtesy of BP Ultimate 98 which Wayne says improves the bottom end remarkably. More than happy with the accelaration available Wayne says "At present it pulls 0-100km/h in 7.1 secs shifting at 2800rpm! The only glitch is the tyres frying @ 1200 - 1800rpm on only moderate take offs. I'm trying to decide whether to invest in a LSD or Hydratrack diff to calm her down."

Having had the head gasket replaced only
6000 kms ago (with the previous owner) Wayne is confident of many more trouble free miles
to come with servicing having been done regularily at the local Ford Dealer.
Future plans include window tinting and lowered suspension combined with fully polished Falcon "Classic" alloys soon to take the place of the original 15" steelies. Being a company car to begin with, Wayne was pleasantly surprised to find his chosen steed had been well looked after without the usual rough body work and torn interior sometimes associated with the breed. |
"These are bloody good cars with acres of room and good ride due to the longer wheel base." Wayne has more reasons than that to celebrate too - with his being the first stock EL station wagon to hit the site - and a great looking one it is at that. Wondering how you too can get your ride on here? If your car is sufficiently modified or rare it'll almost get a gong for sure and if it's near stock or fairly common - like Wayne's ride shown here - simply go out and take the best set of shots you can and tell us an interesting story to boot! So there you have it - the secret is out. We look forward to seeing your set of snaps...
