Rik's White Knight:
What do you do when your beloved XF gets ripped off and you're left stranded without a set of wheels? Get straight back up and buy a 2 year old Falcon - that's what! But - I hear you say - this Falcon ain't anywhere near two years old...more like about ten! But that's where the story starts...

Over the last six years, Rik's beast has gone from 30,000 on the clock to a respectable 180,000 - although not without the odd spot of trouble here and there... "Over the 6 years I've owned it I've found it to be generally reliable." say's Rik - who's a regular on our own automated discussion pages found at http://www.trueblueford.com/discussion/. Fitted with rear window louver as well as front sun-visor and factory white paint, you just know that come summer Rik'll be the one laughing as those in more illustriously equipped and painted vehicles swelter...it just happens to make for the ultimate in sleeper technology too!

Reducing running costs considerably a LPG conversion quickly followed Rik's
purchase with a 2 ½" straight through exhaust (one muffler) providing a raspy note that Rik tells us, "seems to
inspire the others around me - almost like a battle cry or challenge", helping restore
a little bit of the power lost with the dual fuel fitment. Keeping with the sporting look a factory rear spoiler joins a chrome set of ANZ 'Tickford' 16" alloys
wearing Toyo Proxes 225 - helping keep things firmly connected with the black top.
But back to that exhaust - "At first it was really loud, but now - either I'm getting used to it - partially deaf, or
the muffler is wearing away and it's getting softer. - Might have to get that fixed soon."
| Not one to rely on exhaust technology for all his tunes, Rik
states "After spending many
long drives listening to the factory stereo/tape player, with the help of my brother-in-law
I fitted a Clarion head unit, MB Quarts speakers front and rear and a couple of purple
coloured Pioneer amps which sit in the boot." Practicality with a good dollop of style.
Just the way Rik likes it...
Right: close up of those awesome chrome ANZ 16's - works for us! |
