Nik's Dream Coupe:

(Back to EF Drawings.)

Noticing the distinct lack of EF drawings on our EF hub, Nik decided time was nigh for the introduction of his dream EF. And while the picture quality ain't exaclty perfect, there's more than enough for you to see exactly where he's going with this one - and we like it - a lot! Taking inspiration from the customs of the 50's and 60's yet keeping to a thoroughly modern theme, Nik started by going the hack on the body with a neat two-door come pilliarless coversion with shaved handles keeping the whole lot looking ultra smooth and sexy. And while Nik didn't mention what he'd use for a rear window past those thickened C-pilliars we kinda think either an AU Fairlane unit or even BA Falcon sedan would do the trick while giving plenty of "what the?" reaction to boot.

We thought the inclusion of the XA-XC Coupe coke bottle window line was rather clever too - as was the rather subtile flaring of the wheel arches. Rather than just leave the metal work to the sides Nik also chose to lower the roof to a more pleasing altitude with sloped A-pilliars matching the look to the EF's sloping nose. Helping achieve that oh-so-low to the ground stance is one wicked body kit which combined with the PPG 'Mystic Madness' paint would give the ricers plenty to think about! About the only part of the car to go untouched are the stock XR8 bonnet and headlight panel (oh - and maybe the mirrors) making for one ultra successful, stand out show car that'd be sure to burn itself into everybody's memories if ever produced.

Making sure the go matches the looks Nik says he'd include either a replica of the AU2 Explod XR8 engine or go with an ultra tough 5.4 out of a wrecked BA, 6 speed manual and big Brembo brakes making sure the Boyd 20" fronts and 22" billet rears don't look too out of place - necessitating wheel tubs front and rear V8 Supercar style. Helping clear all of those speed bumps while achieving an ultra smooth ride is the obligatory air bag suspension. Completing the build would be an XR8 interior recoloured to black, complimented by all-black Recaro's in all four positions - hidden from the harsh sun's rays and by un-usual (but equally stunning) choice of blue window tint rounding off for one very complete, well thought out package.
