Glenn's EF GLi:

Back to Visitor's Cars

Who would have thought that with only a few simple changes the EF Falcon GLi could look this good?  Still, it's nice to see something different to the normal gaggle of XR's done - our congratulations to you (don't get me wrong - I love XR's too!)  All the way from Perth and chosen by Glenn as his second foray into the world of wheels, this 1995 model EF II didn't stay stock for long.

Glenn likes to make sure his Falcons go around corners as well as look good - so a set of 17" x 8" CSA Prowlers quickly found their way under the EF's wheel arches with 235/45/17 hoops keeping contact with the road.  Aiding the handling are Lovell's 'Superlow' springs with KYB shock absorbers providing much better handling without a bone jarring ride.

Glenn's car came fitted with LPG although as an aftermarket conversion which unfortunately, has brought all sorts of dramas trying to get the car to run right.  It seems nobody has been able to get the fine tune correctly, leaving Glenn a little disgruntled and feeling not so positive about the benefits of LPG.

"The performance does suffer a little but it is only noticed when you are really giving the car some stick.  In general every day driving you hardly notice the difference between running the car on petrol or gas."  Still, that hasn't stopped Glenn pricing out a single fuel LPG conversion using a gas carbie to solve the power problems, but found it a bit too costly and "I could be spending the money on mods which would give me a much better increase in performance while just running the car on petrol."  Makes sense to us!

Not with standing, Glenn's EF is still fitted with a 2 1/2" exhaust, Genie extractors and K&N panel filter giving it just that little bit more 'oomph' but more importantly, the right exhaust note for cruising on a Friday night.  And while we're on the subject of sound, he added a double din sound system and revised speakers to pump out the tunes when the low hum of the exhaust becomes a little too tedious on those long trips.  Motor wise, all there's left to do is the fabrication of a cold air intake to take air from behind the front bumper.

All in all, not too bad for a young bloke at the tender young age of 20.  So where to from here?  "My plan is to try and stop spending money on this car and save up for an XR8 or something similar in a cupla years time."  Sounds like a fair deal - although it'll be a shame to see this unique GLi go to a new owner.  Oh well - them's the breaks!  But in the mean time, we all get to enjoy some pics of a seriously good looking car.  Thanks Glenn...
