Dennis's EL Fairmont Ghia

If you believed the Visitor's Cars pages on this site, you could well come away thinking Ford only made EL's as Fairmont Ghias and XRs! Of course, not one to upset a trend Dennis has sent in some pics of this tasty Fairmont Ghia - complete with all of the items we've came to expect of this luxury marque!

Managing to pick up a 1998 5.0 litre V8 version didn't stop Dennis looking for ways to increase the standard car's lowly 165kW - starting by replacing the exhaust from the cats back with a 2 1/2" item leading into a 'SuperCat' straight through muffler.

Next came a XR8 cold air intake with the overall result being "It now sounds like a real V8 - a beautiful note and a bit more power too!"

Moving to the interior he sprayed the dash surround silver adding in blue background dash lights at the same time for an ultra trippy effect.

An Alpine head unit including CD replaced the already good Ford head unit (aka Pioneer) with a mix of Pioneer / Alpine speakers taking the place of many of the originals helping boost the 11 speaker set-up to new heights. Keeping everything moving along just nicely is a 5 channel Alpine amp making sure Dennis isn't about to run out of great tunes any time soon!

Keeping Dennis's beast from slip sliding away are a set of Dunlops on 16" Tickford alloys replacing the factory originals with an XR rear spoiler finishing off the visuals just nicely.

With standard leather covered seating, steering wheel & gear selector it seems that Dennis doesn't want for much even if he never changed another thing! Just goes to show that class doesn't always come with a German price tag...
