All the way from Western Australia comes this Fairmont with a difference - not only does it feature a great long list of factory/Tickford goodies, but packs a serious punch due to that classic all time go-faster mod - nitrous oxide!  And with Mad Max 4 reportedly being filmed, perhaps it's strangely appropriate as a fuel (now where did I put that switchable supercharger again?).

Above: I've got to admit - it's the first late model Falcon six I've seen on the laughing gas and I'm keen to know how well it goes!

Fitted with a OzNos Nitrous Kit, the intake manifold needed drilling and tapping at the precise points to make sure N20 means GO not BLOW.

- And if you think you've seen this all before - you're right - as Street Machine Magazine came along for the ride at a recent Perth 'Motivation' Show and Shine (2001) and left with a great photo of Dave's amazing engine bay.

Joining the already impressive engine bay is a polished stainless steel intake duct with Genie filter pod and plenty of braided line where ever you look with red being the chosen colour for plenty of leads / wiring etc matching the XR6 rocker cover to a T.  Finally, the radiator over flow bottle was painted gloss black and a set of head light covers painted to match for the show circuit.

Keeping the whole package balanced was the sound system by Alpine including the subs and amps in the boot.  The classically styled Tickford 16" wheels were polished and a factory EL body kit fitted complete with XR6 rear spoiler.  An EL GT bonnet scoop was also added to the overall kit feeding a small amount of cold air to the hot engine bay.  Along the way he managed to fit a pair of EL XR6 tail lights replacing the stock clear coloured blinker with an amber one.  Fairlane turning lights were also fitted replacing the standard brake ducts (which were only for show anyway).

According to Dave, a lot of time and effort has been put into this particular vehicle - and it shows with several trophies at car shows around Perth, including Top EA - AU as well as Top 10 honours at the Perth All Ford Day and Motorvation 2001.  Still, all this comes at a price - with this being Dave's second attempt at a stove hot Falcon - his first being written off.  And with Ford's apparent allergy to producing the goods, Dave has this to say "Through my completion of my project I have finally proven that you can build a late model ford to go hard!!!!!!!!!!!!!"  Maybe there's a spot for you on Ford's product development team?

Not content with his current progress, Dave is in the process of fitting Auto Meter Gauges as well as polishing the intake manifold with other under bonnet components to come.  "Hopefully that will finish it all off."  Yeah yeah, sure sure - we've all heard that one before!  Either way, we're sure impressed as I'm sure you will be - with another fantastic Falcon to add to the pages of Falcon/Fairlane/LTD.  Thanks Dave - and may the For(d)ce be with you!
