Mr X's EF Falcon GLi:

(Back to EF Visitors Cars.)

This photo taken by Doug Bevan at the 2001 NSW All Ford Day - looks like an EL XR but all that hides an not so lowly EF GLi!

Now that's what I call an engine bay...
Sent in by Brad, these pics are of his best mate's EF GLi (Futura?) but unfortunately Brad forgot to tell his friend's name (who works at a Ford dealership by the way) or any details about his fav ride!

So we are going to have to let the pictures do the talking for now.  We assume Brad's mate began with a EF series II GLi (black side protection mouldings) adding Fairmont tail lights and EL XR grill and head lights along the way maintaining the GLi bonnet.

Fitted with 16" 5 spoke alloys wrapped in Firestone rubber of unknown size with cross drilled and slotted front rotors on the front, this EF stops as good as it handles.  Keeping things extra cool on the braking front are removed brake duct grills for extra air flow - required when on outings with the Tickford Owners Club of NSW.  Engine wise, a new fabricated air snorkel takes pride of place topped with an air filter 'pod' replacing the standard original, with a set of Genie headers handling the waste gasses.

Finally, a Predator style polished rocker cover and body coloured accessory drive belt guard match the cool looking BC smooth fabricated air intake ducting for a look that is not only well co-ordinated but is a huge improvement over the original!  Replacing the normal 4.0 litre EFi decals on the body side protection moulding with clever 'Alpine' equivalents rates high in our book of original touches so to who-ever you are (Brad's mate), top marks and all the best for whatever you may have planned in the future!

Caught at the 2001 NSW All Ford Day by our own cameras, this EF GLi had our curiosities even before Brad sent his photos in!

If Street Machine Magazine can use partial arty-shots so can we!
