The XR Couple:

What could be better than having one XR parked in the shed?

(Back to EF Visitors Cars.)

Answer: having two XR's parked in the shed!  Originally owning the EF XR6 and a stocky EF station wagon, the itch bit hard and soon the Polynesian Green ED XR8 filled the space where the wagon once stood.  "That way we could have an XR each" comments Adrian - a sign of past frustrations over who got to drive the XR6?  Still, the change over did not go with out it's dramas as evidenced by a recent trip on the back of a tow truck with a dud starter on the XR8 - and a very expensive repair I might add!

The EF XR6 is a manual allowing the best possible results to be achieved from it's 164kW SOHC straight six and meaty factory optioned 16" alloys - in contrast to the ED XR8 with it's standard 15" wheels and auto.  "I can tell you the six manual goes better than an eight auto" says Adrian regarding his recent exploits at the wheel of both (shoosh - don't tell the missus!)  That ED has it's own story to tell, with a thorough running in courtesy of it's past life as a Victorian Police car with a mild lowering job along the way.

Both Donna and Adrian are keen members of the XR Club of Victoria with Adrian spending his time as Club Events Coordinator on the committee - keeping the Club in capable hands and ensuring some exciting events to come...  In their spare time they run their own business as Painters and Decorators keeping them more than busy - so you can understand this pair is likely to stay stock for quite some time - not that that's a bad thing.  Which of course, suits us right down to the ground - as Tickford would have intended it!
